My friend Briana came with her boyfriend Eric from Boston. We went to Mercato (BYOB!) for her friend Sarah’s birthday. Although I feel like every time (all two times) I go there there’s a problem with the service. This time we were outside with very poor heaters in like 45* weather and none of us had warning of this so were not dressed appropriately. But once again the food was delicious and even though it was the Saturday of restaurant week they let us order off of the prefix ! I started with the Mercato Antipasti, which I feel like wasn’t as good as last time I had it, I think it was warmer last time. Next I had the short rib ragu with ricotta gnocchi, broccoli rabe, topped with shaved locatelli. Everything was so tender and delicious and the broccoli rabe paired perfectly with the meat cutting through the fat and the meat cutting down on the bitterness of the broccoli rabe, yeah my mouth is watering right now. I finished everything off with …. I think it was an apple crisp but I forgot to take a picture and it was easy for me to forget. I definitely recommend this restaurant but certainly not with a big group.
