For Valentine’s Day this year I decided to make David “breakfast in bed” although it actually wasn’t in bed, that way he had time to work up an appetite. I tried to recreate the Toad in the Hole at Honey’s so first I had to make Challah (great tutorial). I haven’t done it in like 5 years and last time I tried it was a bust, but this recipe worked out great ! I actually ended up letting the bread rise for it’s second time in the fridge overnight and it worked out wonderfully. The final breakfast is above, although not the most beautiful looking, made my husband quite happy. It was a slice of challah dipped in homemade hollandaise with an egg in a basket with pepper jack grated over top. The dish was accompanied by hash browns and Classico tomato sauce.
