This recipe is a new staple in the Walters household, it is a quick and dirty one pot wonder (well 2 pots if you count boiling the pasta) dealio. I came across this recipe on Pinterest ages ago and finally made it for the first time a few weeks ago with homemade spaghetti. We were so excited to eat it I forgot to take pictures. This time I made it with spaghetti rigati from the store and because the pasta has ridges it holds the sauce a bit better so its closer to the effect using bucatini would lend. If you have a specialty store near your house you should be able to pick up bucatini there or if you’re lucky enough to have the pasta attachment homemade is always better !
I tried the recipe with and without anchovies and honestly don’t feel like it makes much of a difference either way. In the comments on Bon Appetit someone said they tried it with capers so I think that will be my next iteration. This dish is low cost, low effort and gives you that Italian comfort food feel you might be looking for in the rush of daily life.
