If you’ve read my blog before you know I love pizza, so much that we did a pizza challenge last year and I still wanted MORE PIZZA. So when I saw the extra mozzarella from a meal last week in the fridge you know what my first thought was.
I knew I’d be waking up before my early morning workout to make the dough so I wanted an easy/lazy recipe. My first stop was Smitten Kitchen where I found an adjusted version of Jim Lahey’s No Knead dough. Because I was making it in the morning I did the all day version although I could have saved myself 5 minutes of shut eye if I had done the overnight version.
My husband was home before me so he assembled the pizza throwing on Trader Joe’s Pizza Sauce ( I’m making homemade next time but had some leftover from a bachelorette party), Galbani whole milk mozzarella (about half a package grated), and kielbasa sausage sautéed with red onion. We put it on our gold touch baking sheet and it came out quite lovely after about 15minutes at 500°F.
The crust was just like Deb said, a little wet going on the pan but the perfect amount of crispy and soft coming out. Don’t be intimidated by homemade dough especially with this recipe. It was super easy with no kneading needed (ba dum tsshh) and seems like its pretty flawless results wise. This will definitely be a repeat in the Walters household !
